Gwadar Customs detains smuggled batteries, alcohol

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar, has confiscated 200 units of smuggled batteries used for heavy trucks and buses while in another action seized alcohol bottles.

Gwadar Customs Collector Saeed Akram received information that an attempt to smuggled batteries would be made on which he formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Aftabullah Shah.

The team established a picket near Bhawani and intercepted a truck coming from Quetta that led to the recovery of 200 heavy duty batteries. The customs officials asked the driver to show documents regarding the legal import of the items but he remained failed; therefore the recovered items were seized under the prevailing customs laws.

In another action, the officials recovered 100 bottles of foreign origin liquor from a Mazda Truck.
