Gwadar Customs foils attempt to smuggle gold, narcotics during special operation

KARACHI: Customs Collectorate Gwadar has foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of narcotics and gold during a special operation in Pasni area.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Gwadar Saeed Akram received secret information that some smugglers are planning to smuggle a huge quantity of gold and narcotics after which he immediately constituted a team.

The deputy collector Customs Preventive constituted the team comprising Ghulam Mustafa Narejo, Inspector Imran Wali, Inspector Asad Arain, Inspector Mumtaz Junejo and others. The team established check posts on main entry and exit points of the city and started checking of vehicles.

During checking of vehicles customs team intercepted a Mazda van and during checking recovered 50 biscuits of gold weighing 10 grams and 80 kilograms of fine quality hashish.

These narcotics were hidden in the secret part of the vehicle. Customs team arrested all the four persons who were boarded on the vehicle and after registering a case against them started interrogations.
