Gwadar Customs foils bid to smuggle 34kg drugs from Quetta to Karachi

GWADAR: Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) has recovered huge quantity of smuggled drugs from a passenger bus.

According to the details, the Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) received credible information regarding the smuggling of the drugs being smuggled through a passenger bus on which Collector of Customs Collectorate (MCC) Gwadar Feroze Alam Junejo constituted a team for a raid to apprehend the smugglers.

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation team under the supervision of Assistant Collector Kalim Ullah and Superintendent Muhammad Saleem Khokhar enhanced the checking and boosted up the surveillance. During the surveillance the team intercepted a passenger bus at Kherda signaled the driver to stop the vehicle.

The officer of the Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) carried out complete search of the passenger bus. During the search thirty four kilograms of hashish was recovered from the secret places of the vehicle specially designed for illegal matters.

According to the source the drugs worth millions of rupees was being smuggled from Quetta to Karachi. The customs officers have taken the drugs into the custody and the case has been lodged while further investigations are underway.
