Gwadar Customs foils bid to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate Gwadar foiled an attempt to smuggle a huge quantity of narcotics during an operation.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Saeed Akram received information about some smuggling attempts. He immediately constituted a customs team. The team established many check points in Sardashti area and started checking of vehicles.

Sources said that customs team intercepted a truck bearing registration no: BL-3498. The truck was loaded with computers and other goods. During searching customs team recovered a huge quantity of narcotics which was tactfully hidden in the secret parts of computers.

The team arrested the driver and his companion after registering a case of smuggling against them. Sources said that during another operation ASO team raided at Al Saud Mobiles and recovered 100 non duty paid Rolex watches. ASO team arrested the owner of the shop who was later identified as Shams Khan and started investigations.
