KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar, has foiled attempts to smuggle drugs and Iranian diesel during in separate actions.
Following information regarding the drugs smuggling, Collector Saeed Akram formed a team under the supervision of Deputy Collector Aftabullah Shah.
The team comprising Superintendent Muhammad Saleem and others established pickets at exit and entry points of the city. The officials intercepted a Mazda Hiace during checking of vehicles and recovered 30 kilogram of charas concealed in hidden cavities of the vehicle. The driver was also arrested, besides impounding the vehicle.
In another action, the officials of Gwadar Customs impounded an oil tanker following the recovery of 12,000 litres of smuggled Iranian diesel.
