Gwadar Customs impounds luxury vehicles worth Rs7.50m on Friday

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar has impounded various parts of luxury vehicles and chassis  worth  Rs7.50  million on Friday morning.

Sources told Customs Today, that on the directives of the Deputy Collector Gwadar Junaid Mehmood , operation against smuggled items and non-duty paid luxury vehicles is going on in full swing and several raids have been conducted during previous month of  November and operation of smuggled items is still going on during current month of December.

Sources told that deputy collector Gwadar constituted a team of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Mushahid Ali and others. The team, during a search operation on Gul Shah Road intercepted a truck bearing registration Karachi KG- 0287 which was going out of the city.

During the raids, the customs team impounded 300 glasses, 5 sets of seats, 50 piece of radiator and 3 chassis worth Rs 7.50 million.

The customs team arrested three smugglers include truck driver who were involved in smuggling and registered an FIR against the accused persons and started investigations.

It is necessary to mention here that Customs Collectorate has impounded different type of fabrics include (Indian silk, Iranian bed sheets and Valvet fabrics worth more than Rs 6.20 million
