Gwadar Customs posts 35pc growth during 1H of FY2019-20

GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs Gwader have made 35 percent extra growth under head of sales tax and 38% growth under head of customs duty during first half of current financial year against same correspondence period while seized above four lacks smuggled diesel with assistance of FC during month of December 2019-20.

The sources of Gwader told Customs Today that during 2nd quarter of FY 2019-20 the Collectorate showed outstanding performance against smugglers and registered 58 cases of foreign origin smuggled diesel along with 19 offending vehicles and various type of smuggled goods, it added that all said cases were made with assistance of Frontier Constabulary (FC) South.

The sources informed that during month of December FY (19-20) the Customs squads seized 476100 liters of diesel along with offending (vehicles use for carrying smuggled goods), NDP (non duty paid) vehicles and other smuggled goods in worth of Rs104 million.

During month of November 2019 the Collectorate of Gwader seized 22 cases worth of Rs57.50 million while during month of October 2019-20 the Collectorate seized 96000 litters of smuggled diesel along with 6 offending vehicles and lot of smuggled goods.

Chief Collector Zulfiqar Ali Chaudhary hailed the performance of the Collectorate and directed to work honestly and devotedly.
