Gwadar Customs Preventive foils bid to smuggle cellular phones

KARACHI: The staff of the Customs Preventive Gwadar Preventive has foiled a bid to smuggle at least 84 cellular phones at the Turbat Airport.

The sources told Customs Today that the customs staff deputed at Turbat Airport intercepted a passenger and during checking process recovered 84 cellular phones of Samsung brand. The worth of the seized cellular phones is stated to be Rs 1.8 million while a person has been arrested. An FIR has been lodged under the Customs Act, 1969. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
