Gwadar Customs recovers huge quantity of narcotics from bus

KARACHI: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar team recovered a huge quantity of narcotics  in the jurisdiction of Ormara and arrested two persons.

Sources told Customs Today that Collector Gwadar Saeed Akram received information that a huge quantity of narcotics were being smuggled through a passenger bus. He constituted raiding teams. The teams established many checking points at main entry and exit points of the city and started checking of vehicle.

The team intercepted a passenger bus which was coming from Ormara and heading towards Quetta. During checking the team recovered 10 kilograms of hashish from the secret parts of the bus. The market value of seized narcotics is Rs1 million.

It is also necessary to mention here that customs authorities conducted ten different operations against narcotics smuggling and recovered  huge quantity of narcotics.

Sources said that due to strict measures adopted by customs authorities marginable decrease is being witnessed in smuggling attempts in the region.
