KARACHI: The Customs Gwadar authorities, during a successful operation, recovered a huge quantity of narcotics and foreign origin alcohol.
Sources told Customs Today that Collector Saeed Akram received secret information about some smuggling attempts after which he constituted a team under the supervision of deputy collector. The customs team intercepted a bus. The driver of the bus tried to run away but after a chase customs teams impounded the vehicle and recovered 200 kilograms of fine quality hashish, 2 kilograms of opium and 100 bottles of foreign origin liquor.
Customs team also arrested three persons who were present in the bus. Customs authorities registered a case of smuggling and started further investigations.
