Gwadar Customs recovers huge quantity of narcotics worth Rs 10m

KARACHI: The Gwadar Customs Collectorate has recovered a huge quantity of narcotics and arrested two suspects. The market value of the seized narcotics is Rs 10 million.

Sources told Customs Today that Gwadar Customs Collector Saeed Akram received information about some smuggling attempts. He formed different teams under the supervision of deputy collector.

The customs teams established many check points at main entry and exit points of the city and started checking of vehicles. During the checking, the customs intercepted a truck loaded with hardware items. The team, however, found 100 kilograms of hashish which was hidden in secret parts of the truck.

During initial investigations accused persons told the team that they were going to deliver these narcotics to Karachi. Customs team seized all the narcotics and arrested two accused persons who were boarded on the vehicle. Customs authorities after registering a case of smuggling against accused persons started investigations.
