Gwadar Customs recovers narcotics worth Rs22m near Ormara

GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team thwarted an attempt to smuggle narcotics worth Rs22 million near Ormara.

Sources said that Collector Chaudhary Mohammad Javed received information that huge quantity of narcotics will be smuggled from Quetta to Karachi. He directed Assistant Collector Ali Haider to constitute a special anti-smuggling squad and enhanced vigilance on the suspected routes.

The customs team comprising Superintendent Naseer Bothani, Inspector Najeeb Ulah Rind, Sepoy Mushtaq Ali Mondra, Ehsan Ibrahim and Iqbal Qamar intercepted a car near Customs check-post Ormara and recovered 7 kilograms of ice. The narcotics were tactfully hidden in the secret parts of the vehicle. Customs team arrested and driver of the vehicle and registered a case of smuggling.

It is necessary to mention here that Collector Chaudhary Mohammad Javed directed all anti-smuggling squads to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling.
