Gwadar Customs seizes 22,000 litre Iranian diesel

KARACHI: Gwadar Model Customs Collectorate has seized 22,000 litre Iranian diesel during a successful raid in the area of Pasni while two men were arrested.

Customs officials told Customs Today that a crackdown will continue against oil smugglers. Collector Saeed Akram received information that some elements were planning to smuggle a huge quantity of Iranian diesel into the city. On this, he formed an anti-smuggling team which formed checkposts at main entry and exit points of the city and started the checking of vehicles.

Dunging the checking of vehicles the team intercepted the suspicious oil tanker. While the search of the truck the anti smuggling squad found 22,000 litre smuggled oil. The asked the driver to produce the legal documents of the loaded oil but he was failed to produce the same. On this the team seized the oil and arrested two men who were involved in smuggling. Officials said that the value of seized oil is more than Rs 1.3 million.
