Gwadar Customs seizes drugs, 18,000 litres of diesel

KARACHI: The Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar, seized drugs and Iranian diesel worth of millions of rupees besides arresting four suspects during two different raids.

Gwadar Customs Collector Saeed Akram received information regarding drugs smuggling on which he formed teams directing them to bust the smuggling attempts.

Under the supervision of deputy collector, the teams established check post at exit points of the Gwadar city for checking of vehicles. A team intercepted a truck and recovered catering products but after proper checking, the officials recovered 150 kilogram of charas and two kilogram of opium from hidden cavities of the truck.

The officials confiscated the drugs and arrested two accused persons during the raid. A case has been registered against them.

During another operation following the directions of Collector Saeed Akram, the anti-smuggling team seized 18,000 litres of Iranian diesel. The diesel was supplying to other cities through cans by using a truck.

The officials recovered 800 cans filled with diesel during the raid. The customs has seized truck and diesel worth Rs 7 million under the customs laws, besides arresting two accused persons. A case has also been registered against them.
