Gwadar Customs seizes huge quantity of Iranian juice, mobile phones worth Rs13.48m

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar seized huge quantity of juices carton and non-duty paid mobile phones & its accessories worth Rs 13.48 million on Saturday.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Gwadar received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle huge quantity of Iranian juices and other items from Gwadar to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Ameen Yousuf. The team, during a search operation near Shah Rasool check post, intercepted a truck bearing registration No TGB-9401.

During a search, the team impounded 500 cartons of Iranian juices and 500 sets of android mobile phones and other phones accessories valued at Rs 13.48 million including truck used in smuggling. The team seized all the smuggled items and arrested the truck driver. Sources told that Customs team after registering a case of smuggling against the accused persons started investigations.
