Gwadar Customs seizes huge quantity of medicines, mobiles worth Rs10.58m

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar seized big quantity of illegal medicine and non duty paid mobiles phones  worth Rs 10.58 million.

Sources told Customs Today on Tuesday that deputy collector Gwadar received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle ban medicines and mobile phones  from Gwadar to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Yousuf Yahya Khan and others. The team, during a search operation near Highway , intercepted a truck bearing registration no QN-746.

During a search, the team impounded 20 big cotton of ban medicines 200 non duty paid mobile phones  valued at Rs 10.58 million including truck used in smuggling.

The team seized all the smuggled items and arrested the truck driver, who were later identified Sifat Bhadur. Sources told that Customs team after registering a case of smuggling against the accused persons started investigations.
