GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs team seized huge quantity of non-duty paid luxury vehicle’s tyres & tubes and vehicle being used for smuggling worth Rs 8 million.
Sources told Customs Today on 5.10.2018 that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers ware trying to smuggle non-duty paid luxury vehicles tyres and tubes from Gwadar to Karachi.
After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Mujahid Ullah Afridi, Saleem Khan and others. The team, during a search operation on Gwadar Highway, intercepted a truck bearing registration no GDN-8756.
During search, the team impounded more than 300 non-duty paid luxury vehicles tyres and tubes and others items worth Rs8.50 million including truck being used in smuggling.
The team seized all smuggled items and arrested truck driver, who were later identified as Rehan Bangash . Sources said that customs official started investigations from accused person.
