Gwadar Customs seizes Iranian HSD worth Rs3.50m

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate Gwadar has seized large quantity of Iranian High Speed Diesel (HSD) and hashish worth Rs 3.50 million of Monday.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Gwadar received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle Iranian diesel and other items from Gwadar to Karachi.

After this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Waheed Nawab and others. The team, during a search operation in exit way of Gwadar city intercepted a oil tanker bearing registration no: GBC-7462.

During a search, the team impounded 32 liters of Iranian Diesel (HSD) and 8 kilograms of hashish which were tactfully hidden in the oil tanker, valued at Rs 3.50 million. The team seized all the smuggling diesel and hashish and arrested three alleged smugglers including a driver and a conductor. Sources told that Customs team after registering a case of smuggling against the accused persons started investigations.
