Gwadar Customs seizes luxury vehicles parts & tyres worth Rs9.50m on Friday

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate on Friday has seized luxury vehicles -parts and tyres worth Rs 9.50 million on Friday morning during a special crackdown.

Sources told Customs Today that Deputy Collector Gwadar received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle luxury vehicles parts and tyres from Gwadar.

He constituted a raiding team of the Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspectors Sarfaraz Alam, Sami Yousuf and others. The team, during a search operation near Bar Check Post, intercepted a truck bearing registration number SXV-0927.

During the search operation, the team impounded 80 radiators of luxury jeeps (1600 CC) complete water body 100 sets, number of different types of clutch wires and 50 heavy duty tires valued at Rs9.50 million.

The team took into possession of all the smuggled items and arrested a smuggler.  Source told that investigations are going on from arrested person, after investigation FIR will be registered against smuggler. Source said arrested smuggler belonged to Karachi.
