Gwadar Customs seizes narcotics, Iranian oil

KARACHI: Model Customs Collectorate of Gwadar has seized a huge quantity of narcotics and brake oil during two successful raids while four persons were arrested.

As per the details, Collector Gwadar received information that smuggler were plan to smuggle narcotics into Karachi. Consequently, he informed the deputy collector and instructed him to curb the smuggling. The deputy collector formed a team including Inspector Ghulam Mustafa, Inspector Sarwar Abbas, Inspector Asad and others. The anti-smuggling team established check points at the main entry and exit point of the city and started the checking of the vehicles. During the checking of the vehicles, the anti-smuggling team intercepted a passenger van and found 30kg charas from its cavities.

In another action, the anti-smuggling squad seized Iranian brake oil gallons. According to received information by deputy collector the anti-smuggling team raided at a warehouse and recovered more than 500 gallons of Iranian brake oil. The customs officials seized the gallons and arrested two persons who were there at the time of action. The customs officials said that the value of seized oil is more than Rs 300,000.
