GWADAR: Customs Collectorate Gwadar has impounded several non-duty paid luxury vehicles and huge quantity of smuggled Iranian origin high speed diesel, non duty paid cameras, different electronics items, several bottles of wines, Indian silk, luxury vehicles chassis and others things worth Rs 18 million during raids in different areas of Quetta during the first 15 days of October.
According to the details, on the directives of the Deputy Collector Gwadar Junaid Mehmood , operation against non-duty paid luxury vehicles is going on in full swing and several raids have been conducted during the last 15 days. During the raids, the customs team impounded three non-duty paid vehicles worth more than Rs 12.65 million, 60,000 liters Iranian diesel worth Rs 3.8 million, 100 an above digital non duty paid cameras worth Rsv0.6 million, at least 10,000 meters Indian silk, chassis of luxury vehicles and many others things. The Customs Collectorate Gwadar also seized a huge quantity of hashish in a raid conducted on Tuesday and arrested two smugglers.
Sources told Customs Today that deputy collector Gwadar constituted a team of Customs Anti-Smuggling Organization (ASO) under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Muzzaffar khan. The team, during a search operation, intercepted a passenger bus registration No: BLK-349 which was going from Gwadar to Karachi. During the search operation, the customs team recovered 12 kilogram of hashish which was tactfully hidden in passenger seats worth Rs1.2 million.
The customs arrested two persons involved in smuggling and registered an FIR against the accused persons and started investigations.
