Gwadar Customs seizes non-duty paid heavy bikes accessories worth Rs6m

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate team seized huge quantity of non-duty paid imported helmets and heavy bikes accessories include tire rims and others worth Rs6 million including vehicle being used for smuggling.

Sources told Customs Today, on Monday that Deputy Collector Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non duty paid imported helmets and heavy bikes accessories include tyres rims from Gwadar to Karachi.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Shahid Nazeer and others. The team, during a search operation on Bar area, intercepted a truck bearing registration no NG-7410.

During search, the team impounded more than 300 imported helmets, various parts of heavy bikes engine and others items valued at Rs6 million including truck being used in smuggling.

The team seized all smuggled items and arrested truck driver, who were later identified as Shah Rukan Khan. Sources told that customs official started investigations from accused person.
