Gwadar Customs seizes smuggled watches, computer accessories worth Rs6.50m

GWADAR: The Customs Collectorate seized huge quantity of imported watches, bottles of perfumes, and computer accessories worth Rs 6.50 million.

Sources told Customs Today that on Wednesday afternoon Deputy Collector Gwadar Junaid Mehmood received secret information that some smugglers are trying to smuggle non customs paid large quantity of imported watches, bottles of perfumes, and computer accessories from Gwadar.

After receiving this information, he constituted a raiding team under the supervision of Customs Preventive Inspector Warid Ali Shaikh and others. The team, during a search operation near Jewani Road intercepted a van bearing registration no QF-0183.

During search, the team impounded more than 100 non duty paid imported watches, 700 bottles of perfumes, 800 portable hard drive, and large quantity of Ram. The team seized all smuggled items and arrested driver of the vehicle who was later identified as Aslam Sultan belonged to Quetta.

Sources told that customs team after registering a case of smuggling against the accused person started further investigations.
