GWADAR: Collectorate of Customs Deputy Collector Ahsanullah Shah has said that the Collectorate has initiated a crackdown on illegal sale of smuggled diesel with assistance of FC-South.
Talking with Customs Today the Deputy Collector said that Collector Customs Gawadar appreciated the efforts of staff of MCC (Model Customs Collectorate) Gwadar on surpassing the assigned target successfully and also commended the role of FC (Frontier Constabulary) South in stopping transportation of smuggled goods in the jurisdiction of MCC Gwadar.
He said that MCC Gawadar during FY (financial year) 2018-19 has succeeded in collecting additional amount of Rs 700 million above the assigned annual target of (CD) Customs Duty whereas final figures showed that the Gawader Customs has collected Rs 12.7 billion as CD against the target of Rs 12 billion, moreover the collection of CD during this FY18-9 showed 30% growth rate vis-à-vis the CD collected during previous year 2017-18.
The Deputy Collector Gawadar Customs said that other taxes have also been surpassed by the Collectorate as Rs 19.7 million has been collected against the target of Rs 18.6 million, he added that the Collectorate has initiated a crackdown on illegal sale of smuggled patrol and diesel products in assistance with the FC south during the various operations and raids. He notified that the Customs succeeded in seizing more than Rs 3.5 million worth of tyres and diesel in assistance with the FC South 61 Awaran wing station at Hub city.
Ahsan ullah Shah said that more than two dozen illegal outlets located in the Hub city have also been dismantled, besides the MCC Gwadar seized 150 vehicles including 100 oil tankers and 27 trucks carrying diesel and oil.
