Gwadar I&I impounds foreign origin liquor worth Rs9.3m near Gadani

GWADAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) has detained two vehicles and during search recovered foreign origin liquor worth Rs9.3 million at Gadani. . Driver of the vehicle managed to escape.

Sources said that information was passed through Director Aga Saeed to Deputy Director Rana Aftab regarding movement of smuggled liquor. A team comprising Intelligence Officer Hanif Kurd intercepted a vehicle at N-85 RCD Quetta-Karachi Road Highway near DG Cement factory. The examination of the vehicle led to 53 bottles of liquor brand Black Label. Approximate value of confiscated goods and vehicle is Rs4.05 million

In another case, a vehicle was stopped at RCD Quetta-Karachi Road at Sonmyani. Checking of the vehicle led to recovery of 61 bottles of liquor brand Black Label. Approximate value of confiscated goods and vehicle is Rs5.34 million. The driver of the vehicle identified as Zafar s/o Washii was arrested.

FIRs are lodged and further investigations are still underway.
