Gwadar I&I impounds smuggled goods, vehicles worth Rs12.25m

GWADAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence and investigation (I&I) has recovered huge quantity of smuggled goods from a dumping place. The market value of the seized goods is Rs12.25 million.

Sources said that information was passed through Director Aga Saeed to Deputy Director Rana Aftab regarding presence of a dumping place at market area in Bawani Hub. ASO team led by Intelligence Officer Hanif Kurd raided the place and recovered foreign origin goods including tomato paste, plastic shoppers, color base and tiles.

Besides above, couple of other operations were made during last few days.

I&I Gwadar also seized 500 kg betel nut along with a non-duty-paid Toyota Land Cruisers valuing Rs5.75 million. Moreover, a non-duty-paid Suzuki Alto and Daihatsu Mira were also seized on national highway Quetta Karachi road. The market value of the vehicles is Rs3.8 million.
