Gwadar I&I seizes smuggled gutka from Jewani crossing

GWADAR: Directorate of Customs Intelligence (I&I) has recovered huge quantity of gutka which was dumped at Jewani crossing. Total worth of gutka is approximately Rs1.8 million.

Sources said that information was passed through Director I&I Gwadar Aga Saeed to Deputy Director Rana Aftab regarding dumping of smuggled goods at place at Jewani. A team led by Intelligence officer Hanif Kurd raided the spot and recovered the smuggled Gutka.

Customs Intelligence and Investigation (I&I) team registered a case of smuggling and started investigation.

It is necessary to mention here that Customs Intelligence Gwadar has seized large quantity of smuggled goods along with a passenger bus carrying the same worth Rs21.3 million. Miscellaneous foreign origin goods including Iranian confectionary, tyres, tiles, cloth, auto parts and cigarettes are transported to Yousuf goth Karachi. Yousuf Goth is the dumping place of smuggled goods. From here, these goods are distributed across the city in around 300 Suzuki pickups.
