Gwadar-Kashghar Highway to transform Baluchistan into developed province

QUETTA: Senior Member of Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industries Mohammad Siddiq has said that completion of 4000 kilometre long Gwadar-Kashghar road project will greatly benefit Baluchistan making it the hub of regional trade.

Talking to APP, he said the Gwadar deep-sea port would be fully functional as soon as the Gwadar-Kashghar road project was completed linking it with the biggest cities of the country and China.

“I foresee a very promising future of Balochistan as this vital road will serve as an economic corridor not only for the country but also for the entire region,” he said and added that unprecedented trade activities would be started, besides generating millions of job opportunities for the people of Balochistan and other provinces.

He said heavy influx of investment would help improve public welfare infrastructure in the province, ensuring quality education, health, potable water and other facilities for the people. “This will considerably eliminate backwardness,” he added.
