ISLAMABAD: The Gwadar Port Authority has moved budgetary proposals of Public Sector Development Projects (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2016-17 to the Ministry of Ports and Shipping.
These proposals include budgetary estimates of Rs 110 million for two new proposed projects. These projects include feasibility study for construction of petroleum/petrochemical and dry bulk terminal-PC-II that would be submitted this year and Rehabilitation of Auction Hall Gwadar Fish Harbour-Cum-Mini Port-PC -I to be submitted this year.
Documents comprising budgetary proposals available with this scribe reveal that budget estimate for Rs 6.581 billion for construction of East-Bay Expressway, Gwadar Port has also been moved.
Similarly, budget estimate of Rs 456 million has been moved for Pak-China Technical and Vocational Training Institute at Gwadar Port. Moreover, for the construction of Breakwaters Gwadar Port a budgetary estimate of Rs 9775 million has been presented.
An estimate of Rs 2.125 billion has been moved for the Capital Dredging of Berthing Areas and Channels for Additional Terminal at Gwadar Port. For the Development and construction of port allied structure and Mullahaband Area, a budgetary estimate of Rs 1 billion has been presented.
An estimate of Rs 300 million has been moved for the up-gradation of GPA Housing complex and an estimate of Rs 24 million has been presented for the establishment of CPEC Support Unit for Projects and Activities in Gwadar Port Authority PC-I approved.
The documents further reveal that Infrastructure Development for Free Zone and Export Processing Zones, necessary Facilities of Fresh Water Treatment, Water Supply GDA, China-Pakistan Friendship Hospital (Up-gradation of existing 50 bedded hospital), Coal-based Power Plant at Gwadar and min of Water and Power and Construction of Gwadar International Airport are ongoing development projects.
These budgetary estimates have been moved for the financial year 2016-17 and these proposals will be incorporated in the budgetary proposals of the Ministry of Ports and Shipping after approval from the standing committees of the National Assembly and Senate.
