Hammad Azhar says govt to strengthen economy despite hurdles

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Revenue Hammad Azhar has said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government was committed to strengthening the national economy despite hurdles in order to yield positive and desirous results.

Talking to a private news channel, he said the country’s economy was in fragile condition because the last PML-N government had not taken steps for its improvement.

He stated that all taxes were imposed on people with a healthy income, and no tax was imposed on poor people in the country.

To a query, he said PTI always respected the decisions of courts, adding that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was an independent institution and everybody should respect its decisions.

To another question, he said a consensus was evolved by all the major political parties including Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), to construct dams.
