Hanoi customs collects VNĐ8.5t by May 31, reached 40% of its target

HANOI: The Hanoi Customs Department collected more than VNĐ8.5 trillion (US$374 million) by May 31, equivalent to over 40 percent of the target.

The department said that to achieve the State budget revenue target of VNĐ20.65 trillion in 2017, it will continue focusing on solutions to create favourable conditions and remove difficulties for the export-import businesses in the area.

Through meetings with enterprises, the department has pesuaded 60 firms out of the targeted 100 firms who have high revenue but haven’t fulfilled their tax obligations to pay tax.

Moreover, the department plans to better serve 123 regular taxpayers, which have contributed 60 percent to the customs agency’s budget.

In addition, the agency is also actively taking measures to meet the target of tax arrears collection worth VNĐ30.6 billion, assigned by the General Department of ViệtNam Customs.

Up to May 23, the department has collected VNĐ10.4 billion, reaching 34 percent of the target.
