PESHAWAR: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) working to soften the tax procedure for which efficient steps have been taken by Pakistan Customs to reach more regional and international economic forums for projection of redeveloping trade industry of Pakistan after the exit of war on terror from the region. In order to inspire international trade forums standardization and harmonization of products had been carried out in which the role of Pakistan Customs was very crucial to provide best border management services.
Collector Customs Gul Rahman while talking to Customs Today said that Pakistan internal and regional political condition and its dreamy economy have barred it from actively engaging with central Asian countries. So for the reasons the China Pakistan Economic Corridor have added a lot of valve to the growing trade industry of Pakistan.
On a point to get know about the effects of unrest in Afghanistan upon trade industry of Pakistan the Collector Customs said that recalcitrant Afghanistan has created multi-faceted obstacles in Pakistan’s efforts to establish strong bond with the regional countries under the central Asian republic union.
Collector Customs Gul Rahman said that Regional and global powers are competing to gain access to central Asian energy resources. They have also been a major hurdle in Pakistan’s endeavors to nature cordial relations with regional partners. The long standing presence of US led NATO forces in the region has impeded the formation of cordial bilateral relations.
In order to formulate friendly trade relation with regional and international powers there should be a mechanism for frequent exchanges of scholars, cultural representatives, and government officials to develop better mutual understanding and people-to-people contact.
The Collector Customs responded to a question and said that Pakistan Customs has faced very problems to formulate the flow of trade and transit vehicles to Afghanistan under very hard and difficult conditions and these were untiring efforts of Pakistan Customs which had made to reestablish the Customs Laws on borders with Afghanistan.
The collector Customs said that few routes to Afghanistan still closed due to fragile security situation of FATA for which efficient steps have also been taken to eliminate further risk which might decrease the revenue collection.
