Haroon, Irshad to visit Karachi to review revenue collection measures

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue Dr Muhammad Irshad will leave for Karachi on Thursday evening (15th June) for two days.

It is expected that Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Haroon Akhtar and Member Operation Rehmat Ullah Khan Wazir and Member Customs Zahid Khokhar will also accompany with him during the visit.

According to the FBR sources, the main purpose of the visit is to increase the revenue collection. During the visit finance minister along with chairman FBR and other team members will hold meetings with Chief Commissioners Inland Revenue, chief collectors customs and business and trade community including federation of chambers and Pakistan Business Council.

According to sources they will hold meeting with Chamber of Commerce and Industry and also chief commissioners inland revenues large Taxpayers Unit I (LTU-I and II) and Regional Tax Offices I, II and III of Karachi.

Chairman FBR Dr. Muhammad Irshad will also separately hold meeting with Regional Tax Offices Hydarabad, Sukkur, Quetta and Director Intelligence and investigation Inland Revenue Karachi to review the performance. He will also hold meetings along with member customs with chief collectors Enforcement and collectors preventive, Export I and II, Hyderabad, Gawadar for reviewing the performance. Chairman will also hold meeting with chief collectors Appraisement and collectors East, West and Port Qasim on performance.
