LONDON: Hawaii’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.2 percent, seasonally adjusted, in April, from 3.8 percent during the same month last year, as the state’s labor force grew to nearly 690,000, according to the state Department of Labor and Industrial Relations. The national unemployment rate, seasonally adjusted, in April was 5 percent, compared to 5.4 percent a year ago. Hawaii’s jobless rate in March was 3.1 percent.
Hawaii’s unemployment rate dropped to 3.2 percent, seasonally adjusted, in April, from 3.8 percent during the same month last year. Hawaii’s employed labor force grew to 689,850 in April, from 675,150 in April 2015. The number of people who were employed in April grew to 667,950 from 649,550 a year ago, while the number of unemployed dropped to 21,900 in April, from 25,650 a year ago.
