Hazara Motorway to boost Pakistan’s economy: NHA

ISLAMABAD: Hazara Motorway will prove to be a construction masterpiece and usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in the country.

An official of National Highway Authority (NHA) told APP that with the completion of Hazara Motorway, the people in the area will be able to play an active role in trade, tourism, industry and agricultural sector that will ultimately boost country’s economy.

To a question he said that Hazara Motorway is being constructed with the cost of Rs 33 billion.

He said that keeping in view the needs of local populace this motorway will have six inter-changes, 20 bridges, 15 underpasses and 50 culverts.

He said Hazara Motorway comprises three packages: Package-I from Burhan to Jarikas, is of 20 kilometer long and its 10 percent work is already complete, whereas its five bridges are near completion.

Package-II is 20 km Jarikas-Serai Saleh section and its 9 percent work has been completed; its pilot cuts and culverts are also complete and four of its bridges are near completion.

He said that work on Package-III would commence soon.He said that this project is being completed with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank.

Our country has strategic importance in the region and is destined to become a trade hub in near future, he added.
