HBL chairman lauds govt’s reforms for boosting economy

ISLAMABAD: Habib Bank Limited Chairman Sultan Ali Allana Thursday appreciated the reforms undertaken by the government which had given a boost to the economy of the country.

HBL was collaborating with the government on the opportunities made available for expanding financial services in Pakistan through the National Financial Inclusion Strategy, Chairman HBL Sultan Ali Allana and Shahzad Roy said in meeting with Minister for Finance, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar.

He congratulated the Finance Minister on being awarded with the “Finance Minister of the year 2016 for South Asia” award recently and said that this recognition by the international community was a matter of pride for Pakistan and will boost the confidence of the financial services industry of the country. He conveyed the good wishes of His Highness the Agha Khan for Pakistan’s prosperity.

The finance minister thanked chairman HBL for his good wishes and requested to convey his best wishes for His Highness the Agha Khan.

He appreciated the initiative of the HBL to open a branch in Urumqi, China and wished the bank success in this new venture. The meeting was attended by the senior officials of the finance ministry.
