HYDERABAD: The President Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry Goharullah has termed the promotion of industrial activities is the top priority of HCCI, however, he called upon Sindh Government to extend cooperation for a strong infrastructure in the industrial areas.
Speaking as a chief guest at a reception hosted by eminent businessman Iqbal Baig here at a local hotel on Wednesday, Goharullah expressed regrets over the affect of production activities due to closure of industrial units by Sindh Environmental Protection Agency and said industrial growth in Hyderabad could be achieved with rapid pace if the industrialists received suitable atmosphere.
He informed that though the Federal Ministry of Industry and Production in collaboration with HCCI has set up Hyderabad Engineering Support Centre in SITE Phase-II with an amount of Rs. 257 million in order to provide state of the art industrial technologies but due to lack of electricity and gas facilities, the industrialists are facing great inconvenience. The area should be exempted from electricity and gas load shedding so that more new industries could be set up by the investors.
He said that HCCI has been engaged for promotion of trade and industry of Hyderabad and in this direction, various recommendations and proposals of business community have been given to the government in order to achieve the task of rapid industrial development.
Among others, Senior Vice President HCCI Turab Ali Khoja, Vice President Ziauddin and member FPCCI Managing Committee Muhammad Ikram Rajput were also present on the occasion.
