KARACHI: Trade activities in Pakistan’s business hub Karachi halted due to heavy rains, causing billions of rupees loss to national exchequer. Due to rain electricity supply is also affected and people are not getting electricity according to scheduled timing.
Due to heavy rain, trade activities were also came to standstill at Customs House as businessmen were unable to reach Customs House due to rain water at surrounding areas. Several motor bikes and cars were seen half drowned in the water.
Trade activities were also effected at Pakistan Stock Exchange and traders were facing difficulties to reach their destinations.
It is pertinent to mention here, that there are twenty thousand SMEs working in SITE and Korangi industrial areas, while 50 percent areas of this particular locality is getting electricity while the rest of the area is without electricity.
