HELSINKI: Helsinki Customs halted a smuggling attempt of over 10,000 ecstasy pills which were going to be imported to Finland. Almost 30 people accused were arrested.
Customs said their investigation has uncovered a large trafficking ring, thought to involve around 50 people, and believed to have imported 45,000 ecstasy tablets into Finland over the last two years.
The announcement comes just days after a court in Espoo began hearing the case of Finland’s largest ever drug-smuggling operation, in which 20 defendants are on trial for trafficking large amounts of amphetamines and ecstasy into Finland from the Netherlands
