Heroin smuggling case is about to resolve soon: Collector Preventive Saifuddin Junejo

KARACHI: The Collector of Model Customs Collectorate Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo has confirmed that the customs authorities are very near to resolve the case in connection with seized heroin of 17kilogram.

Talking to Customs Today exclusively at his office, the Collector Preventive Dr Saifuddin Junejo said that the customs authorities have almost resolved the case of heroin seizure and will soon to be disclosed before the media.

Replying to a query, Dr Saifuddin further said that the he was not in position to apprise the detail of the case, as the investigations in this regard has entered into the final phase and the culprits of the seized smuggled heroin would be in court of law soon.

Responding to another query, the collector Preventive informed that he is in continuous touch with the investigation team of the Collectorate and taking report of the case on daily basis.

The collector Preventive further said that the Pakistan Customs has already made the scrutinized procedure into the flights more effective in order to uproot the menace of smuggling of drugs.

It may be mentioned here that the patrolling and reemerging staff of the Collectorate during the scrutiny of the PIA flight bound to Manchester (United Kingdom) was recovered 17 kilogram of fine quality heroin worth Rs170million.
