HYDERABAD: The operation against defaulters and power theft of Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) is in full swing.
The special recovery teams disconnected 200 connections on charge of non payment of dues and removed 680 more illegal (Kunda) connections in the region. The teams also nabbed 12 power thieves and handed them over to concerned Police Stations for registration of cases, the Hesco spokesman informed.
During the recovery of outstanding dues, the spokesman informed that besides cutting off the power connections, the special recovery teams also recovered the dues of Rs. 0.790 million from the defaulters.
The Chief Executive Officer Hesco Asadullah has issued strict directives to officers to take stern action for recovery of outstanding dues and control of line losses in the region. The spokesman informed that action is being taken against power thieves under amended Electricity Act.
