LONDON: If you are a fan of Hitman you’ll know that Square Enix are celebrating the franchise’s 15th anniversary. To let the fans be a part of the fun they are giving away Hitman 2 for free.

To get your free copy of the game, simply head on over to the Square Enix Store, add the game to your basket and use the code ‘FreeSilentAssassin’. If this all works as it should you should then be given a Steam code for the game which will let you add it to your library.

Hitman 2 was released in 2002 and was available for PC, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. In the game Agent 47 is retired, but finds himself forced back to action by treason. To find out the truth behind what is going on you had to rescue your kidnapped mentor and take on members of the Russian Mafia.

As this is a PlayStation 2/Xbox level game the graphics aren’t exactly spectacular, but with it being released free it is well worth a look. To prepare yourself for the next game though it’s probably better to look to Hitman: Absolution which is arguably closer to what we can expect in 2016.

While Hitman should have been released in December it is now coming March 11, 2016. With the release model for the game causing some confusion, the delayed launch allows for more content to be available.

Are you going to be getting Hitman 2 for free? Are you a fan of the Hitman franchise? If so, let us know your favourite game and memories below.
