LONDON: Microcontroller (MCU) IC design house Holtek Semiconductor is expected to post consolidated revenues of NT$4.2 billion (US$129 million) in 2016, up 6% from NT$3.97 billion in 2015, according to a report by Taiwan’s Central News Agency (CNA).
Holtek’s revenues for 2016 are also set to be the second highest annual levels in the company’s history, said the report. For the year, the company will focus on development of its RF wireless products anf low-power 32-bit MCUs, and solutions for health measurement, high precision measurement, security, fingerprint identification and IoT applications.
Holtek’s revenues for 2015 registered an about 1% increase from a year earlier, while net profits grew 2% on year to NT$807 million. EPS for 2015 came to NT$3.57. Holtek posted revenues of NT$908 million in the first quarter of 2016, down 12.6% sequentially but up 3.4% from a year ago. The company expects to post revenue growth of 15-20% sequentially in the second quarter of 2016, thanks to the approaching peak season.
