SYDNEY: Honda has announced the 2015 Honda CR-V in European specification after public debut at the Paris Motor Show and the vehicle is scheduled to go on sale in the spring.

The Japanese company says Honda CR-V crossover has been “boldly restyled” but in reality the cosmetic tweaks are moderate and have been largely carried over from its American cousin. In the interior there’s the Honda Connect infotainment system fitted on all versions and packing a 7-inch touchscreen display. The technology from Honda provides support for Bluetooth connectivity, rear-view camera, MirrorLink technology, & comes bundled with nine pre-installed apps.

The biggest change from the new Honda CR-V is noticeable on crossover performance where the company has dropped the 2.2-liter i-DTEC to make room for a more efficient 1.6-liter i-DTEC producing 160 HP (118 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft), but only available on the all-wheel drive CR-V and works together with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed auto slashing CO2 emissions by 20% compared to the 5-speed automatic.

The manual 2-wheel drive Honda CR-V will continue with its 120 HP 1.6-liter i-DTEC and a 155 HP 2.0-liter i-VTEC gasoline engine that now meets Euro 6 emissions standards.

2015 Honda CR-V (Euro-spec) sales will kick off in the spring.
