Honda introduces bi-fuel version Amaze CNG in India at Rs 6.54 lacs (including CNG kit installation)

NEW DELHI: Honda Cars India Ltd. (HCIL) has launched a new Petrol/ CNG bi-fuel version of its Amaze compact sedan. The new variant Amaze 1.2 S MT Plus is available from now onwards in the cities where the alternative fuel is on offer.

Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India said, “At HCIL, we constantly work towards enhancing customer experience through our products and services. We are extremely happy to bring the Amaze with a CNG option for our customers, which will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but also eco-friendly.”

According to the company, the new variant has been specially tuned to run on CNG, the suspension has been tweaked, and a specially prepared wiring harness to ensure high level of quality has been added. It will be offered with a 2-year warranty as standard.

“The new variant with bi-fuel option of Petrol/ CNG is being offered in the market to meet the needs of customers who are looking for an alternate fuel vehicle with high performance and low running cost,” said HCIL in a statement.

Launched in 2013, the Amaze has been the fastest Honda car to surpass the 1 lakh sales mark in India. Being offered in more than a dozen petrol and diesel variants, mated to manual and automatic gearboxes, the highlight of the Amaze remains the 1.5 i-DTEC diesel engine churning out 98bhp and 200Nm, while the petrol counterpart is powered by a 1.2-liter i-VTEC mill, same as the Brio.
