Honda Malaysia, after strenuous effort introduces new, face-lifted version of popular CR-V mid-sized SUV

TOKYO: Honda Malaysia, after strenuous effort has marked the introduction of the new and face-lifted version of the popular CR-V mid-sized urban SUV model.

Crucially, the firm also added one new variant, offering a total of three variants for the local market. The refreshed fourth generation CR-V range begins with the newly added 2.0-litre 2WD base model variant, followed by a midrange 2.0-litre 4WD variant, whilst a 2.4-litre 4WD variant sits at the very top of the range.

Paired with five speed automatic transmissions, both offer impressive fuel economy ratings at 13km/litre (2.0 2WD) and 12.25km/litre (2.0 4WD). The range-topping 2.4 4WD is powered by the 2.4-litre DOHC i-VTEC petrol mill that generates 187hp and peak torque of 222Nm.

The 2.4-litre engine, also carried over from the pre-facelift version, is paired with a five speed automatic transmission that further boasts steering-mounted paddle-shifters.

One key new safety feature equipped in the range-topping 2.4-litre 4WD variant is the Honda Lane Watch, which matches its newly equipped seven-inch touchscreen display with HDMI Smartphone connectivity and navigation function. Also exclusive to the range-topping variant are six airbags lining the cabin.

Significantly, Honda have also added new standard features into the 2.0-litre 2WD base model variant, which now gains an updated keyless entry system, steering-mounted audio and infotainment controls, Bluetooth hands-free, eight-way power adjustable driver seat, and dual-zone automatic air conditioning.

The mid-range 2.0-litre 4WD variant, on the other hand, further gains new leather seats, as well as a seven-inch touchscreen sans navigation function.

Available for viewing and bookings now at authorised dealers, the newly introduced CR-V 2.0 2WD is priced at RM139, 800.

The higher-spec CR-V 2.0 4WD is priced at RM150, 800, marking a slight increase from the pre-facelift version’s price, whilst the range-topping CR-V 2.4 4WD’s price remains unchanged at RM169, 800.

All prices includes Honda’s standard offer of a five-year unlimited mileage warranty plan, as well as six free services alternating with paid ones until 100,000km.
