SHAH ALAM: Honda Malaysia on Wednesday launched the new CR-V in three variants including the 2.0-litre two-wheel drive (2WD) which is expected to make up more than 50 percent of sales.
Its Managing Director/Chief Executive officer, Yoichiro Ueno, said Honda targeted to sell 700 units of the new 2WD model and expected the remaining sales from its 2.0-litre 4WD and the 2.4-litre 4WD variants.
“We are introducing the new 2.0-litre variant based on market feedback. The sport utility vehicle (SUV) has shown significant growth over the years and the buyers have expanded from traditional family buyers to single adults,” Ueno told reporters after the launching ceremony here Wednesday.
The new CR-V, with on-road price of between RM139,800 and RM169,800, is available in five colours — modern steel metallic, taffeta white, twilight blue metallic, alabaster silver metallic and crystal black pearl.
“Honda is also offering four attractive accessories packages starting at RM2,650 that combine interior and exterior enhancements.
“All variants come standard with an ECON Mode Switch Button to further increase fuel efficiency,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ueno said Honda aimed to increase its market share to over 12 percent this year with a sales target of 85,000 units.
“We sold 77,485 units in 2014, making Honda the leading car brand in the non-national passenger car segment,” he said.
