KOWLOON: Smugglers these days just make it too easy to make “Are you just happy to see or is there something in your trousers” jokes, so we’re going to refrain this time.
A woman was arrested Saturday after customs officers found 1.65 kilos of suspected cocaine – worth HKD2.1 million – inside “tailor-made underwear”, according to a government press release.
The officers first became suspicious because they “found her gait unnatural” during customs clearance.
The passenger had arrived from Bogotá, Colombia from Paris, France.
Upon further investigation, the authorities arrested two more women in Tsim Sha Tsui on the same day.
Another woman, this time arriving from São Paolo, Brazil via Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., was arrested for smuggling about two kilos of suspected cocaine, worth around HKD2.5 million.
