HONG KONG: A woman was arrested here the other day after customs officers found 1.65 kilos of suspected cocaine – worth HKD2.1 million – inside “tailor-made underwear”, according to a government press release.
The officers first became suspicious because they “found her gait unnatural” during customs clearance.
The passenger had arrived from Bogotá, Colombia from Paris, France.
Upon further investigation, the authorities arrested two more women in Tsim Sha Tsui on the same day.
Yesterday, another woman, this time arriving from São Paolo, Brazil via Abu Dhabi, U.A.E., was arrested for smuggling about two kilos of suspected cocaine, worth around HKD2.5 million.
The drugs found taped around the second arrestee’s calves. It turned out that she didn’t just have cankles.
The drugs were taped around her calves.
The four arrested women were aged between 29 and 44 and will be charged with trafficking a dangerous drug.
