HONG KONG: Hong Kong stocks added 0.37 percent in early trade Monday, continuing a run of gains as mainland investors rush into the market after a rally in Shanghai over the past year that has seen it almost double.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index added 101.94 points to 27,374.33.
In mainland China the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.95 percent, or 38.41 points, to 4,072.72.
The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China’s second exchange, added 0.51 percent, or 10.89 points, to 2,160.00.
